The default lengths of meetings in the Outlook calendar will be shortened centrally starting on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025.
Going forward, 30-minute meetings will last 25 minutes by default, and one-hour meetings will last 50 minutes.
We hope that this change will help to make more efficient use of time and increase flexibility in schedules by allowing for a short break between consecutive meetings.
However, the meeting organizer can still set the meeting duration to exactly one hour or 30 minutes if they wish, but the recommendation is to allow participants a short break before the next meeting, if possible.
